Fish bowl IITCP Cities DE-risking and removing uncertainties in decarbonising cities
Description
The so-called “Fishbowl” session entitled: Dealing with complexity, uncertainty, and trust in the “in-between space”. Live Action research in the Fishbowl. During this workshop we would like to gain more insight together with key players into the daily practice of governance, what the (behavioral) dilemmas are and to identify what practical promising experiences exist in the world of administrators and the council in relation with stakeholders in urban development. The Energy Transition, but also other related transitions, and multiple challenges relating to housing, poverty, water, raw materials, and mobility, require other forms of finance, investment and decompartmentalisation of multiple benefits and capital. Mayors and other chairman are crucial to shape broad prosperity and a broader interpretation of security in cooperating areas and programs . Prof. Geert Teisman (https://pure.eur.nl/en/persons/geert-teisman) and Dennis Kerkhoven (https://cities-tcp.org/members/) will guide you through this interactive fishbowl session. Key questions during the action research: How do you create a working in-between space between implementing and participating and steering parties? How do you deal with the tension between vertical and horizontal settlements? How do you fulfill administrative tasks and adaptive leadership? How can you make something complex, such as networks, more reliable and transparent?
